Systems Administrator

Who you are:

You are enthusiastic and passionate for IT. You will be responsible for working on our client’s infrastructure as well as our own, in addition to dealing with escalated support requests and troubleshooting network problems, workstations, servers, switches and common software infrastructure components.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in IT infrastructure and development projects
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical and operational issues
• Conduct research and testing related to assigned development projects
• Provide Tier 3 technical support to clients and troubleshoot issues relating to infrastructure, networking, hardware, and software
• Monitor and maintain backups
• Contribute to our technical knowledge base; take the lead in documenting complex issues and updating network diagrams
• Assist with conducting post-incident root cause analysis, including recommending changes to process and procedures to avoid similar occurrences in future
• Play a significant role in managing the internal network
• Improve existing internal processes and work with management to develop new ones
• Participate in on-call rotation

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• 5+ years of experience in support and management of network infrastructures
• Microsoft Server 2008/2012/R2 support, administration and maintenance
• Microsoft Server middleware (Active Directory, Exchange, SQL, Sharepoint, etc)
• Virtualization environments (Hyper-V)
• Cloud service technologies (Office365, Azure, Amazon AWS)
• NAS, SAN, DAS storage technologies
• Strong understanding of routing, VLAN, VPN, TCP/IP Stack
• Able to deploy and manage various firewall appliances such as Cisco, pfSense, Sophos
• Knowledge of backup technologies (e.g. Veeam, StorageCraft, Vembu)
• Able to work effectively under pressure
• Excellent logical thinking skills
• Ability to organize, schedule, and execute tasks effectively
• Able to work individually as well as in a team
• Self-motivated and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
• Demonstrated knowledge of an orderly change management process

Preferred Knowledge and Skills:

• Class 5 license and a vehicle
• VoIP experience such as 3CX
• PowerShell scripting experience
• Experience with any PSA or RMM software

Preferred Education and Competencies:

• MCSA/MCSE
• Network+, Cisco Certifications
• ITIL certification
• Post-secondary education in Computer Science/Engineering
